Biography

Dr. Xiong is a Junior Research Fellow at HKUST, supported by the Hong Kong RGC-JRFS, specializing in nontraditional luminescent materials, through-space interactions, and molecular photophysics. He has authored approximately 50 papers, including 25 first/co-first or corresponding-author articles, in Nature Chemistry, Journal of the American Chemical Society, Chem, Nature Communications, Nature Reviews Chemistry, and Angewandte Chemie International Edition. His honours include Lindau Young Scientist, CAS Future Leader, RSC Excellent Student Award, and CAST Young Elite Scientist. He has secured over US$220,000 in competitive funding. His research integrates synthesis, ultrafast spectroscopy, computation, and bioimaging to uncover how through-space electronic interactions regulate excited states.
