Biography

Professor Angelo Lo Conte (PhD, University of Melbourne) is Associate Professor of Art History and Associate Director (Research) at the Academy of Visual Arts, Hong Kong Baptist University. His work examines interconnections between art and sensory disability in early modern Europe. He is author of The Procaccini and the Business of Painting in Early Modern Milan (Routledge, 2021) and editor of Living with Sensory Disability in the Early Modern World (Manchester University Press, forthcoming 2026). Selected honours include the Renaissance Studies Article Prize, the HKBU Outstanding Research Output Award, the Endeavour Research Fellowship, and the RSA-Samuel H. Kress Fellowship.
