Biography

Professor Luo's research spans blockchain and smart contracts, smartphone security, vehicle and IoT security, network security and privacy, and AI+Security. Published at leading venues, his work has earned over ten best or distinguished paper awards, including ACM CCS2024 Distinguished Paper Award, four ACM SIGSOFT Distinguished Paper Awards, Best Paper Award in INFOCOM2018. He received the BOCHK Science and Technology Innovation Prize (FinTech) in 2023 and the Gold Award at the Cyber Security Professional Awards (Government Departments & Public Bodies Sector) in 2025. His discoveries exposed serious vulnerabilities in critical systems, while industry has adopted his techniques against malware and cyberattacks.
