Biography

Binbin Yang is Associate Professor of Chinese at the University of Hong Kong. Her research focuses on women’s literary and cultural production in late imperial China. Drawing on newly accessible sources in the field, she examines broader questions in China’s social and cultural history while engaging in cross-cultural dialogues on women and gender. She is the author of Heroines of the Qing: Exemplary Women Tell Their Stories (monograph, 2016); Women Writers of Huizhou: Imaginaries of Space and Place in Qing China (monograph, 2025); and Five Diaries from Early Modern China (annoated volume, 2021).
