Biography

Francisco Tsz Tsun Lai, PhD, is a CNS drug pharmacoepidemiologist and Assistant Professor at the University of Hong Kong. His research focuses on the safety and long‑term physical health consequences of psychotropic medications, using large‑scale real‑world health data and causal inference–oriented designs. He has led population‑based studies published in World Psychiatry, The Lancet Psychiatry, and PLOS Medicine, including work that informed regulatory risk communication on antipsychotic safety. His broader programme spans psychotropic drug safety, interaction pharmacovigilance, and CNS drug outcomes across international healthcare data systems.
