Biography
Jessica Li is an Associate Professor at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Trained in social work (City University of Hong Kong) and criminology (University of Cambridge), she leverages her interdisciplinary background to develop innovative ideas to build safe and secure communities, with a focus on disadvantaged groups. She has received competitive grants from Hong Kong’s Research Grants Council (RGC) to study financial fraud targeting older adults, societal responses to compensated dating among girls, police–youth relationships, and online sexual exploitation. In 2026, she patented an AI-enabled application (HK30127913) to help protect children from online sexual exploitation.
