Biography

Professor Jue Shi’s primary research focus is on bio-dynamics, specifically elucidating how molecular machineries organized as pathways/networks act dynamically within and between interacting cell types to control physiological and pathological responses in complex tissue microenvironments. Her research is at the unique juncture of biophysics, bioengineering, cancer pharmacology and immunology. Currently, her research aims to develop novel, quantitative approaches that integrate multi-cellular patient-derived tumor organoid models with 3D live-cell imaging analysis and mathematical modelling. This approach seeks to elucidate context-specific pathway control at the system level, uncover novel immuno-oncology mechanisms, and identify new druggable targets.

Research Areas

  • 3D tumor organoid model
  • Cancer immunology
  • Quantitative 3D live-cell imaging
  • Deep learning-based image analysis
