Biography
Professor Yam is renowned for her groundbreaking investigations into the role of extracellular vesicles and particles in the metastasis of hepatocellular carcinoma. Her research has illuminated the functions and mechanisms of these vesicles and particles within the tumour microenvironment, which drive cancer progression. Her discoveries have had substantial translational impact, paving the way for advances in cancer diagnostics and therapeutics. Her contributions to the scientific community have been recognised with several prestigious accolades, including The University of Hong Kong Outstanding Young Researcher Award, the Faculty Outstanding Research Output Award, and the Research Grants Council Research Fellowship.
