Biography
Buyang Li received his Ph.D. degree from City University of Hong Kong in 2012, and subsequently conducted research at Nanjing University, University of Tübingen, and Hong Kong Polytechnic University. His research specializes on scientific computing and numerical analysis of partial differential equations, with a focus on numerical methods and analysis for geometric curvature flows, fluid free-boundary problems, fluid–structure interactions, and computing rough solutions of nonlinear dispersive equations. He has been awarded the Hong Kong RGC Research Fellow Award, and the National Young Scientist Fund of Type A (for Distinguished Young Scholars). He is currently Chair Professor of Computational Mathematics at Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
